Kirramosa returned this racing this time with a credible performance for fifth in the Fairfield RSL Club BM90 (1200m) on August 15th; progressing to fifth in the Group 2 Tramway Handicap (1400m) before again running fifth in the talent-rich Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) last time out on September 19th.

Sargent will thrilled with a piece of work completed by the daughter of Alamosa with confirmed Epsom Handicap jockey Blake Shinn aboard this week and is confident she will be perfectly suited to the conditions of the feature race.

“Blake Shinn galloped her this morning over 1200 and he said that was she was box of birds,” Sargent told Racing Ahead.

“I was debating whether to go to the Craven Plate, but it is a $1 million Group 1 and it is a hard mile here, so it is more like 1800.

“I couldn’t be happier with her and she looks as though she is coming back to her best.

“She will be right in it.

“We know that she can get a strong mile or a strong mile and a half, so it will suit her.

“There is two kilos between top and bottom, but she has been right in the weight-for-age the last two runs and the only horses in front of her are all going to Melbourne.

“The weather has come right and she will be jumping out of her skin by Saturday.

“I am very happy with her.”

Shinn is yet to partner Kirramosa competitively, but Sargent is confident the leading hoop knows the mare as well as any of the riders who have taken to her saddle previously.

“He has galloped her and he knows the horse well,” Sargent said.

“He will suit her style of racing because he is quite a rider.”

Having posted four wins and a minor through her 15 start career so far, Kirramosa will leave from barrier 10 in the Epsom Handicap and has been charged with carrying a very manageable 56kgs. is currently offering the best 2015 Epsom Handicap odds, for which Kirramosa can be taken at a generous quote of $15 for success!
