Jockey Peter Robl has been commissioned to ride Lidari in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap this Saturday October 5, 2013.
Lidari is a French import, who is now trained at Caulfield Racecourse by Peter Moody.
The four-year-old will be having his first Sydney start when he runs in the 2013 Epsom Handicap, after having his first five Australian runs in Victoria.
Lidari has won six of his 16 race starts and has earned more than $300,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.
The Acclamation entire has failed to place in just one of his Australian runs, when fifth in the $81,500 Baden Baden Trophy in May.
Robl was thrilled to be able to secure the ride aboard Lidari for the 2013 Epsom Handicap.
“I originally rang to tell (Moody) I could ride 52 kilos if they were bringing something up for the Epsom,” Robl said.
“I wasn’t locked into anything and normally a few of the Melbourne stables might bring up a lightweight chance, and it so happened that Lidari drew barrier 17 in the Rupert Clarke so they decided to scratch him and go to the Epsom.
“He should be a good ride in the race.”
Lidari is also nominated for the 2013 Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup this spring racing carnival.
